Important Ingredient Updates

Dear Parents & Guardians,
We want to inform you of two temporary changes to our school lunch program, effective February 10, 2025.
1. Pizza Crust Ingredient Change
Due to supplier availability, we are temporarily using a different pizza crust. Below are the ingredient lists for the temporary substitutions:
🔹 7″ Fresh ‘N Ready Oven Rising Sheeted Pizza Dough
Ingredients:
Enriched unbleached wheat flour, water, yeast, toasted wheat crumbs, sugars (sugar, dextrose), soybean oil, modified palm oil, salt, sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, pasteurized part skim milk, cheddar cheese (milk, bacterial culture, salt, enzyme [chymosin]), guar gum, whey powder (a milk derivative), xanthan gum, garlic powder, acetylated tartaric acid esters of mono and diglycerides, buttermilk solids, malted barley flour, bacterial culture, sodium phosphate, enzymes (xylanase, amylase, pentosanase, glucose oxidase, lipase, transglutaminase), lactic acid, ascorbic acid, calcium chloride, microbial enzyme, powdered cellulose, natamycin (a natural mold inhibitor).
🔹 16″ Fresh ‘N Ready Oven Rising Sheeted Pizza Dough
(Used in Select Locations: Brother Rice, Clarenville Middle, Brookside Intermediate, Juniper Ridge & St. Paul’s)
Ingredients:
Enriched unbleached wheat flour, water, yeast, toasted wheat crumbs, sugars (sugar, dextrose), soybean oil, modified palm oil, salt, sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, pasteurized part skim milk, cheddar cheese (milk, bacterial culture, salt, enzyme [chymosin]), guar gum, whey powder (a milk derivative), xanthan gum, garlic powder, acetylated tartaric acid esters of mono and diglycerides, buttermilk solids, malted barley flour, bacterial culture, sodium phosphate, enzymes (xylanase, amylase, pentosanase, glucose oxidase, lipase, transglutaminase), lactic acid, ascorbic acid, calcium chloride, microbial enzyme, powdered cellulose, natamycin (a natural mold inhibitor).
2. Update on Halal Chicken Availability
We’re pleased to share some good news: our regular Halal-certified chicken is now back in stock and will be included in our school lunch menus starting in May 2025.
Previously, due to unforeseen supplier issues, we temporarily replaced our Halal chicken with a substitute that was not Halal-certified. While this substitute was 100% chicken with no added soy or other ingredients, we recognize the importance of Halal products to many families and appreciate your understanding during this period.
This temporary change affected chicken-based menu items starting February 10, 2025:
Chicken Fajita, Chicken Penne Alfredo, Chicken Quesadilla and Chicken Ranch Flatbread.
If you had previously ordered one of these items and chose not to receive the substitute, you may still adjust your payment total on your next order.
For example: If you ordered 4 chicken meals at $5/meal ($20 total), you can subtract $20 from your next order at checkout. Our online payment system allows for manual payment adjustments when placing orders.
